replacing vinyl piping

has anyone ever taken a glove with vinyl piping that they really liked and had the piping replaced with leather? i dont think this would work really well with today's gloves but some of the older gloves made in japan might be of high enough quality to warrant the cost. i know i had a ted williams glove after my a2000 got stolen (thank you very much martin grey of chicago, illinois) that i played with from 8th grade through grad school. it was a great glove except for the piping that broke down in the later years. i put colored lab tape over the cracked piping to protect the back of my hand but eventually i gave up on it.

is it possible to replace vinyl with leather piping and roughly how much might it cost?

I'm sure it's possible and would likely make the glove look nicer- plus be a lot more comfortable than cracked vinyl digging into your hand!

This might give you some idea on how much you'll have to spend:
