Problems cleaning an embroidery on the back of a glove

Actually I don't really know how the thing is called. You know it's on the back of a Rawlings RBG36 I recently bought on eBay, there's a white capital R in the middle of a red circle. It's obviously embroidered. The trouble is it's almost entirely black. I don't know if it's been coloured or if it's just been made dirty from use.

Has anybody any idea how I could recover at least some of the original colour?

Try using a soft tooth brush, a mild tooth paste, and a lttle water. This has worked well for me over the years.

Thanks, but the toothbrush didn't work too well for me. I don't know what the previous owner put on it, but try as I might, the blasted thing stays black. I'm afraid there's not much I can do. If you have any other idea, I'll take it !

Moonlight, The only thing I could recommend is sending the glove to Kenny Jenkins to have a new emblem put on. But the shipping might be high from France.

The shipping charges to the USA and back, plus what this man might charge for the job, the whole operation would amount to more than what I paid for the glove in the first place I guess. Forgive my ignorance, but who's he ?

I recently had him totally relace a HOH 1st Base Mitt and replace the web. He reinforced the inside holes around the web as well (this he did at no charge because he said the leather was wearing thin) When I sent out the glove it was an extremely broken in floppy mess. What I got back was like a new mitt! I'll get some pictures of it as soon as I can. Total for Kenny's service: $60.00 Well worth it and very reasonable I thought.
