What thickness leather is best for a liner replacement if getting scraps off amazon or etsy?

I dont have any white leather donor liners from my beat up gloves.

Vintage white leather liners are tough to come by. Your best bet is a Mexican made glove such as Hercules brand among others( Pinedo, Bull Dog, Victoria, Doc Hughes). They show up on ebay all the time and some have great white liners. The example below isn't great but shows you what I mean.

Been working on my Winchester glove and will try a hole patch like you guys have been talking about, never occurred to me to add cloth backing and then a donor patch for the lining!! Thanks, never to old to learn a new trick. will post pics before and after when done. Have you all ever noticed that the button on a Winchester glove looks like the bottom of a shotgun shell???

Most of them don't. This one, however, does.
