Getting Rid of Smoke Smell

Postby chippalini » June 7th, 2012, 9:51 am

Does anyone have suggestions for getting rid of cigarette smoke smells from a glove? I scrubbed off the nicotine stains, but it still smells horrible.

Thanks,

Chip

Hey Chip, I had a couple of those before. I put one in a zip lock bag with coffee grinds. It got rid of the smoke smell but replaced it with a coffee smell. Good trade. I have also seen others use Bounce dryer sheets in closed containers. Another guy used a sliced apple to absorb the odor. I think another way is to leave it out in the sunshine for awhile. Let us know what you end up doing and if it works. Remember, one stinker can stink up a whole collection. You have to isolate them. Good luck.

hang it outside everyday for the next year and you may have a shot. If you ever sell it as soon as it goes into a box for shipping the smell will come back

I've had success with a good wipedown of apple -cider vinagar/water mixture. Let glove dry completely. Repeat if needed. I always use lanolin afterwards.

Thanks for all the suggestions. JD, it is currently in isolation.

An ozone machine will do the job. I can do it for you if you send it to me. No charge
