Should I oil or condition my Pro-6XTC?

Postby Tedwilliams94sox » December 28th, 2008, 6:49 pm

Should I oil or condition my Pro-6XTC? It is all non-oiled horween leather. I am breaking it in and don't know if I need to oil or condition it. I also need to know what to condition it with. I want to keep the color of the leather the same. Thanks for the help.

Lanolin. I have been using Lansinol which is 100% lanolin produced for breast feeding moms. You can find it at your pharmacy. I have had the same two ounce bottle for over a year.

I have found that it neither darkens nor adds weight. My only suggestion is to say that a little goes a long way. Liquid lanolin is good too but you have to be careful when applying because, like oil, it can stain. Try to find the lotion which is a dark yellow sticky thing.

Also, read the other posts on lanolin. Everyone has their opinion and they are all good. Personally, I think using natural materials on leather is the way to go.
