alright guys i have a good one for ya...

I have a 50's PM2. The wriststrap has dry rotted and broken off. I know an excellent shoemaker who has told me he would make me a new wriststrap and sew it on. However, i need to guide him in how to replace some binding. is there any special technique to it? just take a thin piece of leather and roll it over the exposed edge, sew it to the wrist strap, then put another piece of leather over top? I only need a little advice so i can tell the shoemaker what to do. thanks fellas, and as always, any extra advice or insight is more than welcome! I appriciate the help that has yet to come. Thanks, Martin

its called flat binding on those models a 1" STRIP is folded 1/2 on outside and 1/2 on inside with single stitch through both glue before stitching to avoid slippage

I'd be curious to see before/after shots if you have a chance.

Thanks,
