Cincy Reds Gloves

Postby softball66 » February 5th, 2011, 11:40 am

As some of you may have noted, I'm thinning out some of my 1930s Cincinnati Reds player model gloves beginning with last week's intro of a rare Allyn Stout model.
This weekend will further introduce: Gene Schott Simmons, and a really nice, top quality Marty Callaghan with unusual back and nice wrist strap.
Thank you for your interest.

Latest '30s Reds gloves (these player models also fit other teams too) are Al Hollingsworth (44 Browns WS) and Jimmy Outlaw ('45 Tigers WS). The J. Outlaw glove is unique in its own way. Will list it
Sunday, Feb. 13. Thanks for looking!

Wondered if anyone would pull this Jimmy Outlaw glove up and see if they can make out the cartoon character face stamped into the pocket (not much there). At one time I thought it was "Popeye".

Re: Buck Jordan

This is probably the "koolest" glove I've put up in a while on former Reds player Baxter Jordan in that it also includes a legitimate signed index card for Buck Jordan too. Jordan even put a note on the back of the card wishing the sender good luck on a possible major league career. The Mitt is in excellent condition too and came from Hutch Cincinnati. This is one of those mementos you want to keep but I'm sure it will wind up in appreciative hands.

My Ray Kolp glove that just closed was purchased by a distant relative of Kolp's,by the name of Roger. That always makes you feel good!
