Wanted Dubow PEDRO RAMOS glove, also TONY TAYLOR gloves

Postby cubanball » January 29th, 2009, 1:14 am

Hello! I am a Pedro Ramos collector and I am looking for an old Dubow PEDRO RAMOS model glove from the 1950's. The condition can vary but the signature has to be legible as this is one of the few pieces missing from my Ramos collection.
I am also interested in a TONY TAYLOR model glove. I know it existed but I cannot remember the make.
Please let me know if anything. And also some background on the RAMOS Dubow and its scarcity.

Ramos

I have had a number of Ramos gloves, so I am not sure as to the rarity of them, the quality of them has differed as well with only one of the 4 that I once owned being an actual high quality well made glove. Really shouldn't be to hard to find one.

You had FOUR Pedro Ramos gloves at one time?!! That's impressive.
the Dubows are not that common as some of the other brands and some of their name gloves are rather obscure and hard to find.
You can find some toughies like Jackie Robinson and Don Newcombe others on Dubow and not a lot of these around. :o

Ramos

No, I have had four total in looking through my spreadsheet and sales sheet, I did have two at once but they were so different in quality, one had great leather , nice piping, etc.... and the other was a cheap thin leather with vinyl piping and vinyl palm. The funny thing was the stampings on the cheaper glove were strong and the ones one the other were faint. Never really thought of them as hard to find or rare since Ihad them but maybe I just got lucky.

I have a lithograph Pedro Ramos cigar box label. Are you interested in this type of PR item?
