Cool! I don't know about toad, but I sure enjoyed those pics! I like the way you focus on a set of gloves with a favorite characteristic ... that is awesome!
Yes, I still have my first glove.

H-webs

Postby H-webman » October 16th, 2007, 10:46 am

Thanks for the nice feedback. I have enjoyed collecting. I worked in the visitor Clubhouse for the Texas Rangers in the late 70's and was influenced by the dignity of Brooks Robinson when the Orioles came through town. The memory of the H or I web he used in the world series always triggered something inside me. When I played I used a Wilson A2000 model 1373 that was given to me by Buddy Bell (Another fine man) and in 1989 it was lost during hurricane Hugo. So I replaced it. Incidentally, My oldest sons name?.... You guessed it "Brooks".

Gloves previously pictured are :

Thought I'd share a pic of my favorite H Web. My Rawlings PRO-6X-TC Dwight Evans gamer. Unique because Dewey added two laces vertically to support the web. Someday I'll have to track him down and ask him about it.

Very Nice,
I'd heard about your glove and had been trying to find the post with the photo's
Bob Clevenhagen at Rawlings told me he added the 2 laces and that Dwight had about 6 of these, and he's gamer lasted pretty much his entire career and he would send it to Bob every off season and Bob would try to resotre it as much as possible.
Thanks for sharing.

No Kidding, I live in San Diego don't know if you've heard but most of our county is on fire.......so this is a great way to pass the time before we need to evacuate alot of folks around us already have had to leave.

We could use any well wishes.

Mike, Bob can't figure who it was made for,he can't find it in any of their files. He still needs to look through the late 70's files,he was their then but he really thinks it was before his time. He said "It's a real poser"

Beautiful glove...

Just seems odd that an outfielder like Evan who used to use a large Wilson would use a Rawlings infield glove...
