Roy Hobbs

Postby softball66 » July 18th, 2007, 5:43 pm

I saw, touched and put my hand in my first Roy Hobbs glove. I'd seen this company and its gloves on the internet. The glove's leather is unfinished, suede-like and a little too soft and flimsy for my taste but perhaps not for others. Has a "Roy Hobbs" illustration (batter swinging) in the pocket. Nice catching pattern in its design, nothing I'd not already seen. Saw it at Play It Again Sports for $24. Should I get it? But DID pick up a Gorgeous Japan A2000 while there.

ASK YOURSELF... WHY DO I WANT THIS? WHAT WILL I DO WITH IT?

Probably a good buy ...

The Roy Hobbs gloves are pretty good gloves for "off the rack" leather, in my opinion. I have not used one, but the gloves I have seen at coaching conventions here in Texas seem to be well made. The "rustic" look leather does seem to be a bit softer, but I didn't think it was flimsy. I loved the felt labels on the wristpads in blue and gold, contrasting beautifully with the camel colored leather.

I would buy one for $24 if I had $24 ...
Yes, I still have my first glove.
