Attention Modern Glove Collectors

Postby vintagebrett » January 8th, 2009, 9:21 pm

After much deliberation and thought I have decided to close the Modern Glove section effective February 7, 2009. The original intent of this forum was to bring together collectors of vintage gloves and I would like to return to that purpose. Although there are many reasons for my decision, the two biggest reasons are my lack of interest in modern gloves and the time it takes me to review postings in this section. With a young infant, work and a large house/yard to take care of, my free time has significantly been reduced in the past 6 months.

After February 7, 2009 I will be archiving the modern glove sections - they will still be viewable but posting in these sections will be unavailable. I'm hoping that in a months time, some ambitious lover of modern gloves will create a forum suited to the needs of their fellow collectors. I'd be more than happy to create a link from the archived forum to a new one that someone creates.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks Brett,

It's to bad I think that your modern glove section was almost up to par with the vintage section. The modern guys really like helping out each other. I look forward to seeing all the modern glove members on the new forum.

Bret,

I congratulate you on starting the original forum and being flexible enough to expand it when interest warranted it. I have spent many a happy moment reading, writing and learning from all involved. I am saddened that the modern section will be terminated but I understand how new time constraints force the change.

Not good-bye just a heartfelt thank you.

Are we all sure that this isn't Brett's way of asking for some help around the yard and with baby-sitting on Saturday nights?

Seriously, thanks for all you've done Brett!
