Newer A2000 modified thumb loop...

Postby RedSoxFan81 » December 19th, 2008, 10:46 pm

I was curious how you guys liked the new thumb loop on the interior of the newer A2000 gloves? I personally prefer the old style simple leather loop. The newer A2000's have a cone shaped type deal you put your thumb into. It looks like there is a normal leather loop behind the cone deal, I wonder if I somehow cut it out I could make it like normal?

I'm a fan. The cushion is the best part.

I think I like it. But there is no adjustment?

Have you seen the Easton version, I think it is Ideal Fit, they just sew the lining so there is a channel for your thumb no loop. I do not like this at all.

I like it a lot too. Feels better than any other glove in my opinion.

I will agree the cushion and feel is nice, but i can't get it as tight as I'd like. I wear the glove a good amount off my hand, so I kinda have to have the thumb loop tight, and I have it maxed out and it needs to be a little tighter so that's why I had wanted to maybe change it out.

I have had that same problem with several A2000's- the thumb loop "bottoms out", or just doesn't have enough adjustment to get it tight around my thumb.

On the one glove I used as a gamer, I had to do a little surgery. Opened up the glove and used a razor knife to cut about a half inch piece out where the ties meet the loop, essentially making the ties 1/2" longer and giving me enough adjustment.

Something like this....
