That tan piping is unfortunate :?

Where was this HOH made? I didn't think the overseas HOH could come with tan piping and also the stitching is yellow, while my custom black dry came with black. I just don't really like the red lace with it :o

Speaking of the Dual Core leather, I didn't think I would like it but have to tell you that I think it feels really nice on the hand. My son wanted the Catchers mitt so we sold his HOH Mauer model and bought the dual core and it feels great. I will have to see how it holds up but I think it is one of the better things rawlings has come up with in a while.

Dual Core Catchers mitt, and outfield models I like.

These gloves are terrible for the infield. Feels like the glove is going to fold over backwards if a ball even comes near it.

What is the advantage of the dual core compared to a standard HOH with and without a palm pad? Does it add extra weight to the glove?

It's supposed to have a broken in feel right when you get it. They just feel like a $30 glove to me.

It is a Dual Core glove. Here's the response from the seller

"The model number on the black glove is PRO502-3DC and the model number on the tan glove is PRO502-3. I don't think you are going to find any info on them because these are the only gloves of their find. You will not find another 12 inch glove, fastback, anywhere....the colors are cstom as well. The glove that it is based off of is the PRO20HCP. Any other questions let me know!"

Sadly, this leads me to believe a PRO/Minor Leaguer ordered a glove in this abomination of colors.

HrKing - I'm familiar with Moraga, CA where the seller is from. Beautiful area - that is where Saint Mary's College is located. Since the sellers name is hannysmc - this comes from a girls softball at SMC.

Hmmm they must have a deal with Rawlings then or something. That other 502-3 they have up seems like a Pro Shop Tan with black laces.

Dual-Core

Postby glove-works » December 19th, 2008, 9:36 am

Dual-Core refers to the palm leather...it is a 2-layer construction.

The Primo I believe was the first model that Rawlings introduced with this feature.....with the exception of some of the earlier HOH's that had deer skin lining......XFCB, DCT and others that also had a second layer of hide in the palm.

Actually to really explain the dual core, its a second lining palm with grooves cut out to make glove brake in a certian way for example a small infield model will have a groove like a cresent right below the 3 fingers next to the web which would hopefully cause the glove to remain open yet collapse ( spelled wrong) on ground ball.

So...same shell leather used for the Dual-Core HOH's and non-Dual-Core HOH gloves?
