What happened to the thumb area? It seems that most gloves that are used for softball have the thumb area bent in? Is this the case on this particular glove and what would be the advantage to shape the glove that way?

When I wrap my glove to break it in or for storage I do wrap them with the Rawlings "snowman" type ball. That is just the way it breaks them in which I prefer. The edge of the pinky will fit right into the curve of the thumb when I close it.

When fully broken in my thumb and pinky will both be that way on any glove I ever had. Straight up and funnel type gloves just arent for me.

"Snowman"! That's funny. I use that too, and I never knew what the heck to call it. I guess snowman is as good a description as any.
