I orderd a custom glove from Eastbay

Postby Paulypal » October 22nd, 2008, 12:25 pm

Really looking forward to getting it.

12.75 H-Web. Nothing crazy on the colors (tan lacing/camel leather -----I told you nothing crazy) with my #24 on the thumb.

Honestly I am not big on crazy color combos. On the softball website I belong to guys post picturs of their Rodriguez gloves. Some of the combos are insane. I always liked the standard high quality glove. Was always a huge fan of Paul O'Neill's glove. That may be my next one.

Has anyone else ordered from there? From what I hear the quality is very good.

Thanks Paul

Paulypal,

Did you order a glove with tan HOH leather? Is tan available now? I thought it wasn't available until next year.

Check this thread for my custom from doc.

camel with tan lacing...very similar to yours...actually the same as yours..except for the webbing.

camel leather...tan lacing

When tan becomes available I will jump all over it myself

You don't have to wait for the tan leather. Doc told me to message him and he can switch the leather color.

I'd ask him first, but he told me that he could switch the old tan leather in.

I intend to purchase a custom eastbay when the tan leather comes in. I'm curious though, is the leather stiff or oiled. From previous postings on the site I got the impression that people ordered from eastbay because they use the old stiff leather, but on the site it says it they oil it. I don't really care to have my name stitched on the glove, I'm just looking for good stiff leather and tan, also usa quality workmanship is a big plus. Is Eastbay custom my future answer?

aliciabb, you might also consider don morton sports rawlings exclusives. They have a few models of tan non oil treated heart of the hides. If you are ordering from the eastbay custom program rest assured that you are getting the top of the line rawlings. plus eastbays are made in the usa.
