I've personally never had a custom glove made, but you can see a few here:

Some of those color combos are awful, but some of them look
pretty cool. I must admit though that I'm still kind of a purist at heart, I prefer the basic black or basic tan glove. I know, I know, boooooorrringggg!! lol

I belong to that board also. I am a modified fast pitch softball player.

Most of the players on that board are into spending $5000 on bats but dont give gloves a second thought. Not all but most. I know there is some crossover with guys I have spoken to.

The big glove on that board is Rodriguez gloves. You can get them customized for $130 I think, but heard the leather quality is not very good at all.

I dont get the whacky colors myself.

I am also a member of that forum. I have to agree they are all about bats and they think those Rodriguez gloves are the best thing since sliced bread. Some of those colors are just awful They are into the bigger gloves but I have used my Rawlings HOH PRO-TB for years and never had a problem and the HOH gloves last forever if you take care of them. I have also read about some of these other custom glove companys where the color of the leather fades after a while.

Another member of SBF here. I'm not a fan of the wild colors either...but I did however drink the Rodriguez Kool-Aid. I would put the quality of these gloves on par with an average $40-$60 glove...good for maybe a season or two. That said, I've heard time and time again of the great customer service Rodriguez practices. Hopefully the quality of their product will eventually follow suit.

Anyway...here it is:

I recently joined that forum as well, and have found the same attitude towards gloves. It's funny, that guys I play with and against spend $1000 dollars on 3 bats, but won't spend more than $50 on a glove.

Here is my custom from doc. Nothing outlandish.

Thats a pretty glove. I can see the difference now between the color of this glove and the pro preferred.

Thanks for the comments guys! It's an Eastbay glove, model PRO13F on their website. Camel HOH with black HOH lining. I asked doc for the round patch and to leave the laces long. Great glove, it's breaking in nicely.

Here's a few more pics.

in a time of "let's have the weirdest color combinations and wild web" gloves, i think your classic understated glove is refreshing and hearkens to the days of the tan utilitarian gloves.

less is better, old school rules, manny ramirez laces are cool 8)

Here is my standard "let's play catch model". I am getting used to it for groundballs too.
