Conditioning a new Pro Preferred

Postby Paulypal » September 28th, 2008, 12:48 pm

I will have two to break in very shortly. I have a few different things to use:

1) Dr. Glove
2) Glove Loogie
3) Nokona Glove Conditioner
4) Glove Stuff from the Sandalady
5) Lexol

Which one do you think?
Thanks

I would not use any of them. I would just play catch as much as possible. Most of these clean leather or help restore it's suppleness after it has dried out somewhat. Neither of these cases should apply to a new glove.

If you want to shorten the break in period and do not have a catch partner then throw the ball to yourself or get a ball mallet and have a whack or two while watching TV.

It is always fun to break in a new ball glove. I am envious.

Tanners has this new products especially for the Pro Preferred. The product is called "Pro Preferred Care Kit". It has a leather cleaner and a Leather conditioner. Its a non-staining formula so your will remain the same color. www.tanners.com
I ordered some last week so I'll let you know if it works. :D

Tanners is offering the Pro Preferred kits for sale but I would check with them like Doc said they are running late I have been waiting for a month. I just use the lexol and it works fine. I apply the lexol with a shoe polish sponge and let it dry and play catch with it. I has worked for me.
