SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT MY RAWLINGS PRO1000-3T

Postby Mike in New Jersey » September 7th, 2008, 1:16 pm

Hi,

I bought this a few years ago from a Rawlings dealer on E-Bay. The date code is BEEA. There is no stamping that would indicate that it was made in the Phillipines, nor is there a Made In USA stamp. I suspect it was made in the Phillipines, but can't be sure. Could it have been made elsewhere? Also the palm lining is "deer tanned cowhide" Am I correct in assuming that it is not the same as the HOH lining used on the older HOH gloves?

Thanks,
Mike

It's made in the phillipines 100%. BEEA is 10/03 so made in Oct 2003. HOH's have used deer tanned cowhide as the palm liner for a LONG time. I have a 94 PRO12TCB that has the Deer Tanned Cowhide stamp for the lining. Nothing special about that, just a staple of Rawlings.

Thanks,

I was under the impression that, at one time, HOH gloves used the same kind of leather for the lining that was used for the shell.
