Couple things here:

Picked this up at a yard sale-got it home and started tinkering. I had some white lace I got from Tanners, that I have never used, and the wheels starting turning. And uh…well… you’ll see.

Hard to tell from the before pix, but there was broke, missing, and loose lace in the webbing; I did the best I could trying to find my way, but there was definitely some improvising going on, as you can see.

As far as the color goes, I got a little into it, thought about not going with white, but I told myself to finish it, and see how it looked when completed. What the heck, right? Well perhaps I should have gone with my instincts when I wanted to pull it out and go with black.

My daughter (13) told me the white looks tacky.

Looks great! And white is "in" these days... I mean I see a lot of white gloves, batting helmets, bats, etc... at travel ball tourneys these days. So tell your daughter you're just being

I kinda like it too. I've got a beater black glove that I'd like to do in white but I'll have to order some.

my daughter is only 21 mos but i'm pretty sure that when she's 13, we're going to differ on what is considered "tacky".

i would have never relaced a black glove w/white but it actually looks pretty cool. nice job

On a black catcher's mitt, those white laces could help catch the pitcher's eye, especially if he or she has a wind-up which takes the eyes off the mitt for a even a split second.

What about fluorescent orange laces?

That is something I always struggle with. Sometimes I get lucky, but most of the time I just...well, that's the best I got after trying over and over to make it look like it should. But it bugs me; believe me it really bugs me! I pull my hair out trying to get it, until I just have to accept it as is. Someone needs to have a youtube video with a demo-I'd probably still screw it up though

it really is easy. criss-cross the laces like tying a shoelace. then instead of doing another criss-cross, switch the lace order, do a reverse criss cross. seems hard but just imagine tying a shoelace backwards
