Evan Longoria Glove?

Postby NCSUWolfPack92 » July 22nd, 2008, 12:36 am

Does anyone know what type of glove he wears? I know it is an A2000, all tan, with a single post web. Any information would be helpful.

It's like Mike Lowell's. Wilson doesn't have any stock models like that. They haven't even sold any single post webs on stock models in years.

I wonder if he and every other infielder that uses Wilsons in the pros can order theirs without the pre-curved fingers

Sweet A2000. You could get the same mitt by simply changing out the web. I put a single post on a B2 & it looks sweet....bet you can do that with your preferred size of the 1786 variations, G4, etc.

However, FYI - single posts look sweet, but it does tend to make your pocket play flat, so if you like pinkie to thumb breaks in general, you prob like deep pockets & may not like how the single post plays. I've seen several big league photos where they will severely loosen the lace to give the pocket more give.

Single Post are interchangable with I-web, B2, single patch, retro H-web....but do not match baskets, traps, Pro/modified H-webs as far as holes in the glove. However, running extra lace to fill the holes---making a wanna-be "v" lace anchor as you see on recent DCT 1B mitts make for an attractive arrangement on just about any glove. Also check that the long post running from pocket to finger tip is long enough to reach to the holes in the pocket....too long is a good thing as it will form a nicer/deeper/softer pocket-web area.

Local used sporting goods store, garage sales, your closet are excellent sources for webs. Ebay, not so much, as you will be bidding against guys who want the entire glove.

FYI Wilson is releasing blonde/camel A2000's which should be available in the next few months. Cleet Thomas from the Detroit Tigers is using one. Another one was even posted on this messageboard I've also had one on my hand before.

Does Evan use the Wilson A2000 1787 model? are these available to purchase (single-post)

Does anyone know that? Are these trully only pro issue models?

Does anyone have a new style Wilson A2000 with a single-post?

Could you post a picture of it...Just curious to see one...

Thanks

I'm guessing all those tan single post gloves are just pro issue to them. Wilson has only one stock model I can think of that's a single post conventional back, but it isn't tan.here's a link to it:

The glove size on the link is too small. Does anyone know if Wilson offers a custom glove option like Rawlings? Or if a store offers something like that?

thanks

Its also pretty interesting that all those gloves have a single welt running up the fingers.

Hello Enri26,

Here is an example of a single post Wilson. Since I was in a photographing mood today, I thought I would post a few pics:
