Rawlings Pro Heart of the Hide XPG 6 HOH Mantle

I have a beautiful unused HOH PRO-502BF. This glove has only been broken in about 50% and conditioned and that's it. Never played with. There is a special treat attached to this glove also. Also A Mantle XPG 6 HOH . It was a mess and had to clean it up a bit. How does it look now? Both are up for bid right now ending Sunday. Check out my other great gloves too.

Because of some past issues I have abstained from making any comments but, my opinions are not unsolicited as you have asked "how does it look now?"

I think it looks as though the glove was bathed in oil.

No apologies needed. That's your opinion and I asked for one. It is dark due to the leather (patina)not me usng oil. I NEVER use glove oil because I do not like it. I scrubbed the glove severl times also with Fast Orange. I put a fresh coat of Lexonol conditioner just before I took the picture.
Maybe I should have wiped it down first. I know it looks better than when I got it.

my opinion is that i believe i saw this glove being sold on ebay, and it ws the the regular color, but could be wrong, that messed up pinkie looks familar but like you said its the patina. Me personally i cant get my gloves to clean up nice at all, so i would rather leave my gloves dirty and let the new owners clean them. Just my opinion. It just seams like MANY people are changing the colors of there gloves.

You did see this on ebay but what you may call "regular color " was infact dirt and grime which I removed. I refurbish gloves re-lace them and so on. That's my hobby and my passion. You are correct though some purist may want it in what ever condition they find it. I look at gloves like an old car that need to be restored. I love to see the end result. So this glove is not an improvement of what you saw on ebay ? To each his own as they say. It's totally a matter of taste. It's all good though. Thanks for you time.

First off, from an asthetic point of view, I think that the "patina" and color of this glove are absolutely gorgeous. However, the finish and color on the glove here bears an uncanny resemblance to another (now infamous) glove that was recently debated on the forum.

In addition to the similarities in color and finish, the seller of that glove stated that "[t]he Horween leather shell has been treated with the very best leather conditioners available and oiled conditioned to perfection." Similarly, the ad for this glove states that "I cleaned and conditioned this glove with the very best leather products on the market."

There's other similarities, but those were the ones that raised red flags for me. I'm not pointing fingers, but I'm guessing that hat these two gloves have some common history...

I use Lexonol !!!! The best products on the market IMO. That's what I put in my ebay add. Don't know what other glove you are refering too or whoever for that matter. Thanks for the kind words though. About the "ed flag" I'm not sure what you mean on that one please explain if you wish. I'm new to this forum so maybe you think I'm someone else ?? . I'll say it again it's not oil though. Just a fresh coat of Lexonol (brown bottle) . It was obviously still wet when I snapped the picture but that was on pupose. Obviously today the glove had dried.I think gloves look dull and boring in thier natural state. But that's me.

Any mention of "red flags" has nothing to do about the glove. Personally, I love the XPG - I love the color, I love the patina, I love that it's a Mantle, and I especially love that it's an XPG. The fact that it's not the original color, the pinky isn't perfect, and the patch is missing would make absolutely no difference to me.

And yes, Lexonol (sic) is the best stuff. Don't worry about that other glove - these things have a way of working themselves out. Welcome, and best of luck on the sale.
