Postby quaz95 » May 31st, 2008, 9:12 pm

hey guys check out this glove on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... T&ih=013Im interested in it but it is very wierd. It has the gold glove series above the date code and on the pinky it says "hoh 70hf". Can anybody explain this is this a legit glove.

It looks legit to me. I seem to recall reading somewhere (and I can't remember exactly where) that Rawlings did, in fact, use the "HOH" prefix very briefly in 1983 only.

That's right. Bob told me about my "HOH"57HC that Rawlings changed the names of its gloves briefly in 83. They changed back the very next year because the Pros thought the name change meant a change to the gloves also and they quit using them.

looks like they were produced in 1983 for the 1984 catolog, but the 70HF doesn't show up.

hey doc, how did they come up with the crazy numbers? random number generator? (40, 50, 54, 57, 70, 80 etc)

is there a secret code
