A Rawlings date code question

Postby oldreliable » April 12th, 2008, 3:36 pm

I still can't figure out these Rawlings date codes. I apologize for this.

I have a black made-in-USA HOH Rawlings PRO-TF B with a Trap-EZE web purchased in 1987 in Reading, PA.

The code on the thumb is "HBB01".

What does this signify?

Also, I believe this to be Horween leather. Is it? It felt like iron plate when I bought it, and to this day, this is my all-time favorite leather.

Thank you,

John

I can tell you that the last numbers (01) indicate that it is indeed Horween leather. The first letter (H) indicates it was made in a year ending in 6. The BB represents the month of Novermber (I think). Your glove follows the blackhorse dating method. Look at other threads to get more info.

Hello opticsp,

Thank you very much! I'll check out the other threads again.

Do you know where in the U.S. this glove was made?

Thanks,

John
