Akadema Hoboken Gehrig Replica

Postby Musashi » March 23rd, 2008, 1:19 am

I can't believe that I was considering actually writing on this glove! It'll be a gift for one of my groomsmen, but after seeing it in the flesh, I may have to buy one for myself!

Anyway, though it's neither rare nor vintage, nor even the genuine article, I thought it was just too pretty of a glove not to share:

I don't have the Gehrig, but do have the Dazzy Vance and Bob Feller models. Absolutely fantastic leather and craftmanship!

One of their Reach Babe Ruth models should be arriving shortly and I will be posting a review when it gets here

I can't wait to read your review! After admiring the quality and workmanship of the Gehrig, I'm seriously thinking of picking up a couple more of the Hobokens, and I think the Dazzy and the Ruth are next on the list.

If you're looking for the other models, I would suggest searching around the internet. I see these being sold through various outlets with a price difference of as much as $30.

I really like these gloves, but there aren't too many things I like paying 50% more for if I don't have to!

You're absolutely right on the prices, and it's a good thing I did a little research before I bought it. I ended up paying $67 at www.baseball-softball-gloves.com, with UPS ground included. Scott, the proprietor was great - he shipped it out that day, personally answered my calls and emails, and the glove got to Chicago two days before I expected it.

There was only one other place that sold it cheaper (and that included the shipping), but the difference was only a couple of bucks. However, there were other places that had them for ridiculously cheap, but they nailed you on the shipping.

Here's the cheapest I've found- not only for the Hoboken Gloves, but just about any other glove you can imagine. Their standard ground shipping is free. I can usually wait a couple extra days to save a few bucks!

Just Baseball Gloves

You have to browse through their Akadema listings to find all the Hoboken gloves, but it only takes a minute.

I really doubt that anyone has a larger selection of gloves on the internet!

Awesome folks to do business with. I have bought gloves from them and bats from their mirror site http://www.justbats.com
