ballgloves.com Rawlings Questions

Postby red_sox_fan86 » March 14th, 2008, 12:04 am

ballgloves.com offers new XPG3, PRO6HF, PRO6XTC, PRO6XBC, PRO1MTC & PRO1000HC that are stiffer than most new HOHs, and I was wondering if they are made with horween leather, or if they just looked like it.

If it is its old Horween that the TriPhil plant was setting on as they could not make those gloves and sell for that price if they could we would be doing it. I would have to have the glove in my hand to tell where it came from as far as leather manufacturer

they smell like horween, and they take a long time to break in...they are great.. Call Don Morton and ask him.

I ordered a PRO6HF about a year ago but sold it because it said 12in but was just about the same as a 12.75 outfield Rawlings glove. I never broke it in but it was much stiffer than any of the new HOHs. I never had any of the old gloves with horween leather so I didn't know if that's what it was.

I've used a Morton 6HF as my gamer for the last couple seasons. It does appear bigger, but measures exactly 12" with the shallow infielder's pocket. I'm breaking in a 6XBC now. Beautiful gloves....better than stock HOHs. My $.02

I bought a PRO12TC from ballgloves.com last year. The leather's almost rock-hard and has that great ballglove smell. It's got to be Horween. Buy with confidence. :)

I have almost every Rawlings Custom Order Don has ordered over the last few years, ...all of the wing tip gloves, the tan trap ( measures about 11.75" not 12"), the black trap ( the black trap measures larger than a 12" about 12.25")...all great stiff leather
