Bob (docglov) question... Rawlings prototype? custom?

Postby splinters » February 3rd, 2008, 6:48 pm

Bob (docglov):

I picked up a couple rare Rawlings Pro preferred gloves, new with all the tags on them, however I have never seen these offered at the retail level...Were they specially made as prototype? Custom?

Rawlings PROS15ICB-50 11.5" 50th anniversary special edition ID #25
Rawlings PROS12XTCB-50 11.75" 50th ann spec. edition ID #7
Rawlings PRO200-2KOT 11.5" 3 different types of leather
Rawlings PRO1000-4KBPRO 12.25" trap

thanks for any information on their background? They are the prize pieces in my collection

I will look into this for you, sorry for slow reply. But off hand I know that the 50 anniversary are retail one time only gloves. And I'm the others are early models of the kip line with the last one being a Pro model. the 2KOT reads like a kip with a tan oil tan parts, is this true?. which could make it a baseball express or other dealer special model. I will try to track it down

Bob:

Thanks. I have never seen the 2 models of the 50th anniversary gloves listed above in any retail store, and there is no info of anyone selling it on-line. Any info you find would be great! The 2KOT glove has tan leather on the inside, a soft brown leather on the outside with a black web...thanks.....Matt

These were all on Ebay from Primo909 is the name I believe. I think he gets them from Chick's sports on the West coast. I was at one of their stores this summer and they had a bunch of the two tone pro preferred's like baseball express has but the legit pro ones, not the "J series" bs.
