Here's one of my favorite resurrection gloves. I got it from an estate buyer's inventory store for 12 bucks. He had a bunch of old sports equipment (mostly cracked bats) that he had gotten from the local Rookie A league team just prior to the destruction of their old ballpark. They now have a very fancy new stadium to play in...but I digress: When I got the glove the "R" emblem in the web was barely attached and hanging, the glove itself looked like it had been run over by the team bus. It was so floppy and flat. I figured I could clean it up and make it semi-presentable but even after cleaning it it still was in poor shape. Thats when I found Kenny Jenkins website (www.kennysgloverepair.com) I sent it to him and he replaced the web completely, relaced the entire glove and because he found that inside the palm near the base of the web that there was a spot where the leather was thin he reinforced that spot (free of charge). The glove I got back is absolutely perfect. but don't take my words for it.

photo 3 shows that thin gray line in the palm that he reinforced. After looking at my photos I realized its kinda hard to take pictures of an all black glove

anyway my next project glove i'm sending him is a Rawlings MM that I got without seeing the back of the glove (the seam between the index finger has separated up to the nuckle and is brittle). I hope Kenny can salvage it. I'll post some before and after shots of that one.

Really nice 1b mitt! I have a similar mitt, a Rawlings with the same basket web, reinfoced with the X-strap (or whatever it is called!) behind it. And the circular R patch is hanging on by a thread! Since the same thing happened to yours ... I wonder if that is some kind of flaw with that design? :? Maybe catching lots of hot throws eventually punches out the circle-R patch behind it ... :? :?:
Yes, I still have my first glove.

I think its less a design flaw as it is a sewing flaw. The circle R that Ken replaced had the stitching missing the fabric.
