Mr. Chuck Faulkner, Sir Thanks for your explanation on how the grommets bend when you are trying to repair the glove or mitt.
Now, I know.

Yankees23 – Thanks for letting me know...but those are the “crazy” looking mitts I was talking about on this thread. I don’t like them; I would rather have an all tan mitt with tan laces…That’s it.
Thanks

The MacGwire pattern was my favorite until the modern DCTs came out...both have a great feel. Best 1bs out there IMO

You could swap out all the tan lace and put black in it's place and have the all black version this way the glove is not to crazy looking. Once you break this glove in you will love it. And the main reason I put it up there was the price $109 is very reasonable for a HOH.

I have a new DCT and it is a wonderful mitt. All golden tan like the one in the picture that MVALZ posted. I like the size and feel as well as my two 80-90s tan PRO-DC mitts with basket-webs.

I seem to recall a youth size in the Pujols model which might be a good size for a 9 yo to start out with.

Do not buy the youth Pujols my son had it and hated it, not a good grade of leather too much palm pad which makes the ball pop out if not caught right in the pocket. Spend the extra money on the HOH version you will not regret it. Just my 2 cents.

from a functional stand point, i don't really know if the double-ca-thud design makes a difference, but it was pure genius in theory (docglove design?)

DCTs are absolutely my favorite 1b mitt even though I've never heard the ca-thud sound. Maybe I'm not catching correctly. :?

The late 80's-90's had leather loops instead of lacing on the ca-thud part...a very nice variation.

I forgot I sold this one about a year ago, It was a USA HOH version which I thought was cut a little smaller. I like my new pujols much better a more comfortable feel for me.
