hey mike, i just saw your original post. this has kinda morphed into an all mizuno thread.

1) i like the curley-bates "script" WW's with the red plastic cup patch (that usually fell apart over time) because of it's classic design and rarity.

2)and of course the TSU series are highly coveted (thanks mvalz for the nice pic) because they commemorate the "great one"

3)the MIJ block letter WW's that succeeded the script models continued the fine craftsmanship that mizuno has established.

4)the early model WW's that were made in USA are decent (as glove-gypsy has shown us) but i'm not too crazy for the lower end model USA WW's that are available lately.

5)i've never had my hands in a WW V, anyone wanna comment on those?

i have this giant (13"?) GOC5 that has the ballistic nylon backing and what i presume is a pro issue player name stamping on the inside of the pinky (D. PEROZO) that swallows up a hard ball like a black hole does to planets.

the shape and feel is amazing.

spedrunr,

WOW, that black outfield glove looks like it should be illegal to use  I mean, it looks like it gives a player an unfair advantage! I also like that it has the "pro" break in pattern pro outfielders give their gloves.

I have been looking for a really good outfield glove for my son as he sometimes plays the outfield - but neither one of us likes "big" (12.75" or 13") gloves. But searching is the fun part!

WOW these glove look beautiful I wish I could have one them. Used a mizuno 11 inch "the close" junior year in highschool and loved the shape and the leather.

Also I heard a while back that Mizuno when they lauched the pro limited special edition gloves the Japan edition, the gloves went through a double tanning process which is rarely done with gloves now a days since the consumer wants faster break in periods. Also they stopped because of the high cost to tan them. Can anyone confirm this? Also, which were the two tannings processes Mizuno did to them.

Actually one of the Ichiro gloves (tan one) posted looks like one.

One more:

The rarity of this Pete Rose game-used 1984 Montreal Expo glove is only part of the story. The fact that he only played 28 games in left field for the Expos is one thing, but the markings on the outfielder's mitt make this one of the more intriguing Pete Rose pieces. According to Rose, he was tired of his equipment being stolen, so Rose marked 'Demars' and '7' on the blue backing. The name referred to Billy Demars, his hitting coach and long-time friend. The '7' stood for manager Bill Virdon's jersey number. Of particular note, is Demar's #2 multiplied by Virdon's number equals Rose's jersey number (14). Glove exhibits moderate game use, surviving his short stay north of the border. This 'Mizuno GOC5 World Wind' Pro Model 12½" glove perfectly signed in silver paint pen. A triple T-bar web with blue cowhide pocket was custom designed for the 'All-Time Hit King'. Rare 'Charlie Hustle' gamer. (PSA/DNA Label)

Unfortunately, I don't own any of the gloves I posted pictures of today :( They were pics I found on the internet. I do have to say, the Japanese appreciate fine gloves:
