My understanding, and it could be wrong, is that Rawlings "pro shop" gloves are offered to pro players (and limited other folks who have access to them). These differ from "custom" gloves that anyone can order from various places. These gloves are made in the Phillipines but differ slightly from the store models.

I am just going on my discussion with the Rawlings rep that services our area. My gloves were made in the Phillipines and their quality of leather, stitching, etc. is comparable to the gloves I have seen provided to minor league friends in their Spring training camps. Here is a shot of the mod-trap model.

WoW Mike that is one beautiful Pro Preferred. Those are exactly the gloves I love to get my hands on the ones built exclusively for pro players. Great leather, tan laces, and grey welting. Also no insignia on the outer index. I have one a heart of the hide with two different types of leather that was built for a pro player. I'll try to post some pics when I can.

The pro shop is in the catalog. many differences are available thats the reason you see the same gloves with different color welt or a palm pad, fingerhood or other things you can order. They all come from the Phillipines except for a custom line coming to eastbay this year which will be all american made from chicago based horween leather. Available in black or the pro prefered color now made for the first time by horween. everything custom can have your name on it.

docglove,

Is the Pro Shop leather for HOH or Preferred gloves the same as the leather used for retail HOH or Pro Preferred gloves? I have both types of gloves and the Pro Shop ones are a little lighter/stronger and all around nicer... Can you confirm?

Excited to see the custom line from Eastbay! What color exactly is the Pro Preferreds (other than black). Will be like the glove pic I posted? I would guess it would be different somehow.

Yeah I think Eastbay is going to post up there new Rawlings custom program. I've been searching Rawlings on a daily basis since docglove mentioned something about the new program and i've been getting the old program they had until yesterday. I searched yesterday and today and no Rawlings custom program was available. So it could mean they have scrapped the custom program as a whole or they would (like docglove said) be putting in a new custom program soon. Really can't wait to see the options. Hopefully it will be more the new mizuno program which is pretty impressive.

The new HOH eastbay program is up and going. The gloves are black and camel or a combination of the 2. The camel is a lot like the color of the Pro Preferred but not so bright and shinny. It is a Horween real HOH with the color tanned into the leather and not painted as the Pro Preffered. If you will recall the HOH's of the past showed the scars and shades of color from the natural steer hides, That is what I wanted in this line. I'm afraid you wont be posting any beautiful pictures like the ones on here now. But I personally feel this is what you will be seeing on ebay in 25 years like the ones you see now. I think that if we make it through this season I will be able to add the old color to the line. changes in todays companys are like water dripping on a rock. It takes a long time.

Thanks for the update Bob. I would find it very helpful if you could post a high def picture of one ( or more) of the gloves on this site. I received the catalog in the mail but you really can't see what the gloves look like from that... A good sample glove to take a picture of would be 11 1/2" single post / open back.

Hey Bob
I agree with Mike. I am very interested in ordering one of these gloves but would love to see a real picture. You just can't tell much from the catalog. Thanks for all your input.
