Rawlings HOH & PP Discussion

Postby BIGSOX04 » May 14th, 2008, 10:54 pm

Thanks to DocGlove for directing me to the forum, now I won't have to bother him everytime I have stupid questions, however thanks for your patience Bob!
I have a Pro Preferred that I picked up at the little league draft, which as it turn out was my best pick. The glove has an ID#716 and is a Raw;lings PRO-S20BC Item number: 160239205703 and I have been asked how old the glove is and was wondering of anyone could confirm the age.
My older son uses the same model, however after speaking with Doc and reaading the forum he is locked in on a horween HOH with matching color scheme for his AAU team, I would like to confirm if Eastbay is the only outlet and what the delivery time is?
I aslo have a Rawlings HOH PRODJ2 with a BEEC code from a chain store and although it well cared for and his little brother loves it, a hard hit ball always results in a stinger. Is there anything I can do to restore this glove or should I consider ordering two horween HOH if they are even available.
Finally I have several other Rawings, Wilsons, and Nokonas and was given a HOH catchers mitt PROJO20 with a BEEK code, which I am concerned will behave like the 2 year old Nokone CM500BFC which has lost all form and flops with increased velovity (+70MPH). Just wondering if the HOH will be offered in the horween leather and the timing.
Thanks fo rany comments and thoughts.

I have yet to find a "floppy" glove that can't be made firm again by replacing the old, worn, stretched laces. If the laces are in good shape, just tightening them to the same tension as when they were new can work almost as well.

In fact, after having the laces replaced, even the floppiest glove will usually be stiff enough that some small amount of break-in is needed to loosen it up a bit.
