Nokona AMG1150WMT arrives and my son is finally in love

Postby dapert » August 30th, 2008, 11:02 am

My son is a good little ball player and a heck of a pitcher but he just never seemed to love the game or his glove like I did. Well that has finally changed thanks to Nokona. Glove arrived yesterday and he spent an hour conditioning it. He WANTED to do it himself so I think he's finally become one of us. Best part was watching him stop every few mintues to smell the glove. First time ever he took his glove to bed with him.

Now he's asking for more gloves to work on and wants to learn how to relace.

I'm sure you've all seen a thousand Nokonas but this is our first so I had to share. This glove is truly a work of art. Almost a shame to have to use it and get it dirty. Can't wait for mine to come.

Which one did you get? I got him the Walnut and I've got the AMG1150KMT coming as well. The Buckaroo is supposed to be a bit lighter so I'll give him his pick but I doubt he's going to let this one go.

I want to pick up one of the Sandstone as well. Not sure yet about the black. Never been a black glove guy.

I even picked up one of the kid model Nokona's for my 8 year old daughter.

Glad he loves it dapert. You can't go wrong with a Nokona. I love my buffalo more than any other material possession I own. Hence, it sleeps in its Coach silk drawstring bag. :D
Alas, my glove is better than my game.

Very nice. Where did you finally order it from?

I'm in the market for one but looking for an 11" mod trap. My boy is now playing some second base and his AMG175 is a little big for that position but I don't want to drop a ton on a new on that he will only play a portion of the time at.

May post on the Gloves Wanted for a used gamer that I (or he) could re-lace.

Post the Kangaroo one when it comes in as well.

I ended going to eBay and found it on a best offer. Saved maybe $15 off what they are going for on the online shops. Wasn't really looking for a deal as much as I was looking for ease of ordering.

There's an 11" MT on eBay right now in the store section for $129 or best offer. I was going to put a bid on it but he wants U.S comfirmed addresses only so that leaves me out. Nobody is offering at it and it's been on there over a week now.

I forgot what that glove looked like brand new - Beautiful glove!! I hope he gets to have as many good memories with his as I did with mine.

I understand about him smelling the glove - don't ask me what it is about Nokona's, but they smell better than any other glove. That probably sounds pretty weird though :D

now he wants me to find a used one he can use for practice so he can use this one only for games...I told him I'd sell his Xbox360, TV, computer, etc and buy him as many gloves as he wants

I picked up the Buffalo 1150MT, Great feel to the buffalo, smells a bit different than the kangaroo but its incredible none the less. I'm probably going to need to sell that Rawlings I just relaced to justify the expense (c:

As for my son, I'm letting him use his Nokona in church league fall ball, i'm not so worried about it there. I'm still way more concerned about his glove than he is, but he's learning (c;
