relacers nightmare

the award for the most outrageous (in it's time) web design and lace pattern goes to Mr. Latina for the TG12 of 1958. if you've ever had the pleasure (curse?) of trying to relace a trapeze web, you probably didn't even try because of what appears to be a daunting task of mangled lace. just the zig-zag alone takes me nearly a 1/2 hour. i laud the early USA glove designers for being innovators of web designs and lacing patterns.

in a time when everything old is new and to paraphrase from the wise guy solomon "nothing new under the sun". rawlings is bringing back many of their old school models with much anticipation and chatter amongst the glove collecting crowd.

there seems to be a contest amongst the japanese glove designers on who can come up with the most innovative web designs and what looks like "waste as much lace as you can" and make the lacing pattern as complicated as possible.

perhaps they want you to send the glove back to them so that they can relace the glove correctly and charge a premium (sounds like a car dealership).

i've noticed that many glove relacers will charge $10 more to relace a trapeze. what would you charge for one of these crazy webs? would you just turn away the glove and tell them you can't do it for the amount of time and lace required?

if you like a little color in your life:

free :D , only if it is a USA HOH

I have done a glove similar to the zett and the last mizuno...

got around 1/2 way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy.... didnt even notice it though, because I think quality Japanese gloves may being to fill some of the void of USA HOH shortage
