A recent promotional union between People Magazine and Major League Baseball geared towards honoring military veterans has entered its final stage and I am fortunate enough to be one of the three remaining nominees with the chance to represent the club of my choosing…the New York Yankees…at the 2013 All Star Game at Citi Field in NY.

Well, I hope to know the outcome of the contest soon. Although the results will be posted for the public to view on the MLB website on the 10th, I may learn my status before then...don't know for sure. Regardless, I will let everyone know how it went as soon as I hear something.

At long last the results are in……

In no small part to your support and commitment to the voting process, I have been selected (http://mlb.mlb.com/tribute/2013/) as the individual veteran that will represent the New York Yankees at the All Star Game as part of the MLB “Tribute for Heroes” contest next week at Citi Field!

I thank each and every one of you who have supported me in this endeavor and took the time to think of me over the past few weeks. I am so very honored, humbled, and excited to be involved with the All Star Game in this way and look forward to reporting on it when I am back in town next week.

It is a real joy to be a part of this hobby community and know that we can count on each other for support in such matters.
