Though it would be cool to begin a thread about new products you can buy today that are made by current or former glove manufacturers, but aren't gloves.

Years ago I bought a Rawlings leather checkbook cover, but it was pretty shoddy, so I returned it. They recently revamped their lineup of offerings and I bought the new Travel Organizer. Been using it a few weeks as a checkbook cover and it is great! The leather is butter soft and the compartments are well placed and useful.

Was over in Italy last year and came across an A.G. Spalding & Bros. store! The products are super high end and outstanding. The ironic part about this is they advertise the 520 Fifth Avenue NY address and the history of Spalding’s imprint on American history, but don’t have any US retail outlets. It’s an Italian company.

Obviously, Stall & Dean. Their clothing lines cater to a market, one can only assume, doesn’t collect vintage equipment.

Very cool Jerry. I've always liked those leather Rawlings bag and have been looking on EBay for an affordable one.

There are a few things I like with the Stall & Dean line, but as one fellow once told me "I wouldn't wear that even to a dog fight" or something to that extent.

A new side line for William?

$348 for a wallet made from a glove that probably cost them $3.48. I wonder if they are targeting only U.S. made gloves, since most imports were made with lower grade leather. Actually this practice does bother me because they are probably buying gloves without regard for rarity or collector value. To them it's just a supply line. To a collector, it is as if they are slaughtering an endangered species!

I just re-read the article and I see that it's only a limited run. Hopefully they will not sell well and the slaughter will end.

I think that anything of any rarity or value would significantly eat into their profit margin. Coach isn't going to be winning any gloves the hobby will miss. If, by chance, they do... it's our fault for not bidding high enough.

I think the used American and import gloves - there are some pictures with the article and I believe you can see the types of gloves they used. I agree they weren't spending a lot. I do like how they kept the grommets.
