Twins Homer Hanky from my great grandmother...

Postby rmiller » September 7th, 2008, 2:01 am

My great grandmother grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota and she just loved the Twins! Every time I would see her, we would talk baseball. She would always say, “Oh I just love that Kirby Puckett, he’s so cute!” I lived overseas in 1987 (Air Force brat) and she sent me this, with a note saying she was thinking of me as the Twins were making their World Series run.

She’s been gone several years now, and I hold on to this. No monetary value that I’m aware of, but it sure is precious to me. I'd like to think that she and Kirby have had a chance to talk baseball. :D

Give us the gate key. I have no gate key.
Fezzik, tear his arms off. Oh, you mean this gate key!

Growing up in Minnesota, like most kids Kirby was my idol. I was lucky enough to get my glove signed by him. I still cry everytime I watch youtube videos of him. I was also lucky to meet and shake the hand of legendary Twins announcer Bob Casey months before he passed. He had some great stories about kirby.
