A Geo. Reach Co. Rainey Trap glove sold for $325. A nice looking glove with the tied pinky.

A Banner Mitt made by Peerless Sporting Goods sold for $300. Looks to be near mint and a rarely seen box is in OK shape.

A rare Nokona Joe Jackson model G42 glove sold for $799. Ink on the wrist strap and missing welting/sewing repair to the thumb seam.

A rare Wolverine brand Wally Gilbert glove sold for $239. The glove is high quality and in great shape.

An early asbestos wool lined D&M glove sold for $1000.

A sewn web Goldsmith glove sold for $206. Weird that sellers use oddball categories to sell vintage gloves. I would think this one could have sold for more. You know the D&M glove sale price above was just a guesstimate because it finalized off ebay. Probably went lower than a grand. I really prefer this Goldsmith over the D&M. Both are the same era. The Goldsmith has some defects but you cant beat its je ne sais quoi (my college french course coming into play, hah!).

A 1920's Rawlings model 10-OL catchers mitt sold for $250. it's in nice shape front and back.

A Spalding "Honor" mitt sold for $204. Top of the line in its day.

A rare and early sewn web Wilson "King Patent" glove sold for $263. This one is past the point of restoration but has a great played in vibe to it. Someone really loved this glove. Just couldn't part with that liner even though it was replaceable. Hah! The tag has the early oval Wilson logo and seems to be in pretty good condition. I wonder if Jared snagged this one. Pretty sure his collection is missing a name sake King Patent model.

Once again, Mike just knows me too well. His Spidey senses are tingling. I'm kinda hoping the leather is still supple enough to restore the glove. I'll know as soon as it gets here.

Hey, I wanted to share with you all what Mike T. did for me a long time ago. I had the only TEW King Patent at the time but it had a brand new lining in it. It was expertly done but was just too new looking. Mike had that one in his sights for some time and thought it was a shame that it had a new liner in it (and was not shy about letting me know, ha), so when he was restoring one of his own, he saved the old original lining for me. We counted the number of eyelets to make sure it was a perfect match and it was. He had me send it to him and he swapped it out for me along with the laces. I couldn't have been more pleased. There is nothing like using original parts or old materials when working on an old glove. Sorry Mike, not trying to advertise that you are in the restoration business cuz you're not but wanted everyone to know how happy I was and how cool it was of you to fix it properly for me. I appreciate you.

Thanks JD! That was an interesting project. I think the leather on Jared's glove could be rehabbed with some sort of conditioner. That's what I would do anyway.

A Spalding Babe Ruth model 2B "Home Run Special" base mitt sold for $465. Here's one you don't see often. Looks to be in real nice shape.

A mint Stan Musial TG12 glove sold for $2000. Doesn't get much better.

And...the D&M full web that “sold for $1000” is now back on eBay. For $1049. Assuming it is the same seller, but not sure.

eBay only archives sold listings for about three months or so, but WorthPoint is a cool site if you're not familiar with it. They archive eBay listings - including photos - as far back as ten years (unfortunately getting the sold prices takes a subscription, and the rates are geared toward power users, not dabblers). If I'm on the fence about something it at least lets me gauge condition & rarity. (And once or twice I've used it to verify if something's a quick flip.)

A lefty Geo. Reach double Rainey web glove sold for $225. Nice glove, really clean. A bargain!

A Rawlings Duke Snider model DS glove sold for $275. A little dirty but close to near mint.

A couple of rare Wilson gloves. First is a 1958 "Shooting Star" model that sold for $322. Seems like a bargain considering it's a first year model. This one could easily be restored to top condition. I wonder if Brett or JD got this one.

Second is a circa 1967 Wilson model 2005 glove that sold for $327. This one is a near mint beauty.

I did bid on the 1958 a2000 but didn’t win. I agree that it will clean up nicely
