what is happening! 50 bucks! The ebay photos could have been better but jeez this one is a beauty. Pristine white leather liner, supple glove leather and super markings on the front.
Wow! Here's another, 36 bucks! An early Ratsch/Peerless mitt sold through Simmons Hardware. Telltale wrist strap design, heel lace and SHC cloth patch.
Curious about this one. Because of the reg.pat.off. on the label and the diverted seams, the glove appears to be post 1908. I would love to see the webbing or lack thereof but the seller doesn't seem interested in providing more photos. Webless? Any opinions?
The description says “1920s” and it’s Evan from Lelands that’s selling it, so it being a webless is not likely. There’s a Denkert, up now, that was put up last week as a webless but the seller has since updated his description acknowledging that the web was removed.
This was an expensive glove and a lot were played to death. This one is a sweet survivor. The HSP glove sold for $250. The gold stitching in the Rawlings patch is perfect. Won't find many nicer than this.
A 1920's VWD catchers mitt sold for $145. the white and red patch is a rare one.
A 1920's Rawlings catchers mitt sold for $149. The front shows a fair amount of wear. The back is really stylish with the olive green leather and primo cloth patch.
