Best of July 2017

The hits just keep on coming! Another stellar D&M G41 glove from the Norway find. The "Donie Bush" model plus a mint D&M bat and ball sold for $2700. So far the mint G41 gloves, a Reach webless glove and the Ratsch Duk-Fut glove sold on ebay recently. These are usually the staple of the auction houses. Hard to beat the 13% ebay sellers fee and Paypal buyers return guarantee. The auction house buyers premium, handling, processing fees coupled with a "no Paypal/no returns" policy- what a turn-off.

Nice group of items - I think the seller would have done better separating the bat and the glove. Definitely some nice items lately.

I know zip about bats but that D&M decal model did look interesting enough to stand on its own. The ball was also very nice.
I was following the "Hank Aaron" GF20 glove and box auction. It had everything going for it, mint glove and stellar box. The combo sold for $448.

No wingman today so flying solo at the flea. Really on the lookout for a Rawlings Primo glove made out of the finest Italian leather. No such luck. Oh well, I did buy a pitchfork so not a total loss.
A nice Spalding buckskin sewn web glove sold for $350. It looks to be the PXL "Professional" model.

An early sewn web glove sold for $99. The factory logo is barely visible. It's a well made glove in lightly used condition.

A 1950's Rawlings "Mickey Mantle" model MM glove box sold for $500. Overall in nice shape.

A 1960's MacGregor Model KF8 Kangaroo hide glove sold for $203. I have seen a fair number of the double H web model that Mays used. This is the first one I have seen with the "Fieldmaster" web. The price seemed a little low but the condition wasn't great and the ink didn't help

Does anyone think that a better title would have brought a higher price for the Aaron MIB? It didn't say "Personal Model" or "Made in USA." Or vintage.

But I can see the seller being extra cautious about MIB.

A real nice X-AC brand base mitt sold for $256. An intact buckle web was definitely a plus.

An early Goldsmith model K glove sold for $152. It was a top glove in its day. The inner lining has a fair amount of chafing, but the tag and exterior leather are in great shape.

Original deal fell through and glove resold for $800. Closer to the realm of reality but how does a collector get past the cut off web, palm only liner, small size and so-so condition for $800?
