As we near the end of 2016, I am curious about what everyone thinks of the year our hobby had. What does everyone think the "Glove of the Year" was in 2016?

What were your favorite acquisitions in 2016? And what is on your wish list for 2016?

Wishing all of you a very happy holiday season and that 2017 is your best year yet!!!

I think a lot of good deals were done outside of auctions this year. Using the limited auction results however, two nice ones that come to mind are the Ted Kennedy "pita" mitt and the Reach ambidextrous glove from earlier in the year. I would lean toward the Kennedy mitt because he was an early and great inventor, an 1880's ex-ballplayer with a forward looking eye.

I'd cast my vote for the Kennedy mitt as well.

I'm gonna get on board with glove of the year posts. Here's my addition of the year for my TEW collection. Finally have one. A TEW 605 Babe Ruth model. Big shout out to Rob Mucha for letting it go from his collection and one more huge thank you to William for a outstanding job on helping me with the restoration process. Y'all are the best!

I think I only picked up one glove in 2016, though even if I acquired more, this would still be my favourite.
Rawlings Harvey Haddix model HH. Great condition all-around, and one that I'd always wanted in my collection. Thanks to Jim Daniels BGC Sales Lists!
(Oh and I borrowed the photos from your site Jim, I hope you don't mind, I'll take them down if you do)

Great looking glove John. Glad you love it and of course I don't mind if you or anyone uses pictures or anything else from the site. That's what they are there for. We are all here to share. Post away!

Welcome to the 605 club Jared!

I'd vote for the Kennedy Pita as the best glove/mitt of the year.

And my best or favorite pickups of the year were the Walter Johnson D&M whitey, the George Kelly D&M Wapiti mitt I have been drooling over for years and the '88 Joseph Sauer catchers glove.
