A near mint MacGregor "Willie Mays" model G105 glove sold for $90. I love the "SpiderWeb" models but couldn't pull the trigger. Optimistically, a $200-$300 glove, the ink just killed this one for me.

A very rare Spalding "Lloyd Waner" three finger glove stalled out at $480 on ebay. Nothing major wrong with it, just a few minor flaws adding up to not making its reserve.

A mid 1950's Rawlings "Gene Woodling" model PM1 sold for $195. A model not often found in this great condition.

A 'teens-20's era Rawlings catchers mitt sold for $177. Can't quite make out the model number, it's ?-OL. Nice black leather in great condition and super cloth patch.

An interesting 1920's Rawlings "Bill Doak" model sold for $200. The glove's a little worn but you can't beat a three patch model with the extra retailer tag from Burk & Co., a building/hardware store in Nashville. The glove is also stamped with "Special" on the front at the heel. The glove looks to be the rare short finger model known as the "Kenworthy Special" in the catalogs.

Two late 1960's MacGregor gloves from the last of the USA made models. First is the KC1 Kangaroo leather glove. Beautiful condition. Sold for a healthy $295

Second is the KF8 Kangaroo leather model with a different web. This one sold for $160. This one is pretty well used but shows the popularity of the Kangaroo leather models. They were very expensive in their day. Interestingly, the same person bought both models.

A mid teens-20's Wilson base mitt sold for $410. It has the unique 1914 patented wrist strap and a good cloth patch going for it. The glove overall seems in fine shape and should clean up nicely.

That TEW mitt was very nice. Good to see that quality pieces are selling well.

A 1960's Spalding "Yogi Berra" model 42-707 mitt sold for $175. Looks to have seen minimal use. Cool "Spoke Web" and a large, top of the line model.

Another 1960's Spalding, this one a "Rocky Colavito" model 42-204 glove sold for $250. It's in super condition and besides being a top glove in its day, the model was one of Sandy Koufax's favorites in his career.

A 1940's OK Mfg. "Joe DiMaggio" glove sold for a best offer below the asking price of $400. It's a well built, great condition triple tunnel model with bold markings on the front indicating "Special Services" use.

A "Grover Alexander" glove sold for $220. Looks to be a Marathon brand tunnel web version model 4272 made by Stall & Dean. There is a faint impression of the ball player still in the palm. Alexander Endorsements on the thumb and palm of the glove. Glove looks soft and supple with the split in the thumb seam the only drawback.

A generic sewn web glove sold for $219. No mfg. visible from the photos but maybe something would show up upon closer inspection. The glove looks to be high quality and in good shape, just a little pricey.

A Goldsmith model KB glove sold for $200. A Hans Wagner model, too bad no close-up photos provided. Endorsement said to be very, very faint. A glove with strong markings would have brought a multiple of the buy it now price. the glove itself is in fine shape and was a top of the line model in its day

A couple from Hunt's. As always, a crap shoot of guessing what their incoherent, loopy descriptions and meager photos reveal. Roll the dice, take your chances, grab your ankles.

A Spalding crescent base mitt sold for $605. Looks to be in decent shape with nice coloring front and back. Some stitching loss to the hump, great cloth patch, cool leather wrapped wrist strap buckle. As Brett said, the good stuff still seems to command high prices.

A sewn web Reach crescent fielders glove sold for $338. Looks to be a youth model with some wear. No heel lacing or welted seams. Palm only liner and canvas piping. Build quality definitely not there.

A stellar Rawlings "Bob Cerv" personal model XPG9 glove sold for $322. There were a lot of bids and some puzzling bidding strategies. I followed this auction from the beginning hoping I would have a shot but it got up to $192 with days to go. It's a rare glove from 1960-61 in close to near mint condition.

Here is a 1920's Wilson sewn web model 604 "Professional League" glove in black leather. It was a top of the line model in its day. It is a large glove, supple leather, really perfect inside and out. The auction was up to $220 and was ended early.

A 1940's Tru-Sport "Red Ruffing" glove sold for $100. It's a really large and stylish glove, typical of the 1940's and in near mint condition.
