pretty nice 1920's Reach "Fred Tenney" model 4S base mitt sold for $250. Markings and patch very strong and the mitt is in overall good shape.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading that the Tenney mitt was one of the first endorsed mitts?? Joe had an article on it way back in the day of the newsletters...

I saw a 1902 Reach catalog that had a list of players (Tenney included) that used and endorsed a certain base mitt. It was the "Reach Special" model. The first time I saw a Fred Tenney stamped model in a catalog was 1924-25.

A unique and rare Victor catchers mitt sold for $380 on ebay. Bert Rogers, the designer for Victor, patented a two piece face in the early 1900's. This interesting lefty version is amazingly intact and problem free except for the cut-down wrist strap. The Victor logo is very nice.

An interesting Rawlings "Bill Doak" short finger model glove sold for $238. It is in pretty good shape and has the two Rawling's tags plus one for a retail store in Tennessee.

I know this one has sold, but I'm looking for this one or one just like it. Any information on the new owner? I'd like to make an offer on this glove as I'm related to Fred Tenney. IF anyone knows anything about who owns this glove, please contact me.

Thanks,

Kindest Regards,

John Tenney
