Some people believe what you did was wrong, others don’t. Some people believe what I and a few others did was wrong, others don’t. Some people are going to believe your story, others won’t. That’s life. My suggestion is to move on and don’t dwell on it. People are going to continue to ask sellers to end auctions early whether you never do it again or not.

Should we also add, people are going to add offers after the deal if we find the bargain not adequate to the gloves value? Seems like that practice will continue on as well.

Sure, why not. Add it.

Matter of fact, we should all begin perusing lots won by people we don't like or disagree with and make offers just on their winnings. That's more constructive and feasible from a time management perspective, Ricky. No one has time to police all the deals on eBay.

The previous was just a little attempt at humor. Hang in their Jared. We've all made mistakes.

A couple modern gloves to go with Brett's A2000. Love the finger loop on that one.
A 1960's Rawlings HOH "Warren Spahn" XPG3 sold for $330. Great condition!

Another Rawlings Musial glove in its picture box. When it rains it pours on ebay. This was the PM Supreme(one of my favorites) with a pretty tattered box. It sold for $315

This 1920's Winchester glove was offered for auction or optional BIN for $220. There were no takers at $220 may be because the stamping in the pocket was faint or gone. Anyway, it worked its way from a minimum bid and sold for $345. Stellar overall condition and Winchester patch

Would it not be better for the hobby as a whole for everyone to have a chance of the piece of the pie?

Absolutely. The Dave Cunningham book tells a story of how one glove find can revolutionize a collection. It also created buzz behind the scenes as we celebrated it and debated its age and value. He held on to it for a while and then traded it for a bunch of different gloves that took his collection in a different direction.

Getting a great find -- not necessarily a high dollar find -- reenergizes us and helps make up for the many times we came home empty handed or receive a poorly described online auction glove. The Popovich book has many stories of energizing finds. We all like the thrill of the hunt, but it sure is nice to bag one from time to time.

A 1920's Spalding sewn web glove sold for $261. Looks like it was originally white but now a soft grey color. Still in super condition.

A Reach full web glove sold as a BO. No markings on the face, but otherwise nice white leather. The back displays well with the wool lining and great cloth patch.

A 1920's D&M catchers mitt sold for $110 on ebay. Mitt overall is in great condition.

A circa 1935 D&M "Bill Urbanski" glove sold for $200. Also in great condition. One of D&M's better gloves in that era.

A stylish 1920's Reach base mitt sold for a BO after a long time languishing overpriced on ebay. Nice reddish leather and patch. Contrasting piping is cool, too bad it is cloth. Mitt would have sold way quicker if all leather.

Sonnett "Eddie Stanky" Double Play glove sold for $50 on ebay. Unique joined finger model. In pretty fair shape. Would have been better if it was the cloth patch version.

Spalding "EZ-Flex" model 1013 glove sold for $129 on ebay. Great looking and appears in mint condition. The notched pinky somewhat hidden. One of the better Spalding gloves of the era.

AN early Dubow sewn web glove sold for $175. Not often seen. Seems in good shape and of high quality. I like the suede interior.

A 1950's Wilson "Lefty Gomez" model A2044 glove sold for $203. This one is in near mint condition, with only a little surface dust from laying around for decades. Leather looks dry as a bone. Some leather conditioner and detailing and this will be a stunner. I've owned a similar model. It is one big glove! Would be hard pressed to find a better example in recent years than this one.
