A 1930's Rawlings base mitt sold for $192 on ebay. Darkened pocket obscures a model number or endorsement but the back presents beautifully and the strap web models are always popular.

Two similar MacGregor gloves from the 1960's. First is a Zoile Versalles model GS4 that sold for $62. A nice glove and pretty rare endorser

The second is a Hank Aaron model GF20 that sold for $214. I bookmarked this one since it started at a $200 min. bid. I was curious where it would end up. A popular model for collectors. it is a big boy. This is a stellar example, one of the nicest I have seen. The integrated web is really cool looking.

A 1930's W.H. Brine Co. "Dazzy Vance Special" glove sold for $80. This one is a nice lace up model.

A 1940's Stall & Dean "Chas. Gehringer " model 8064 sold for $158. Quirky design similar to the Goldsmith VM. S&D takes the cake for offbeat gloves in the 40's.

Two nice gloves/mitts from the same seller. First is a crescent Reach base mitt that sold for $350. Looks like old paint in the pocket but otherwise pretty nice.

Second is a Spalding model SS "Leaguer" that sold for $350. Factory markings in the pocket are just great.

Minor, or not so minor correction on the Spalding SS Leaguer Model. I offered $250, and we met near there at $275. Nice price for a great looking glove. :D

Didn't notice the Best Offer transaction. The Spalding SS model was described in some catalogs as the short finger infielders glove. You can kind of see it in the pictures. It was one of Spalding's top gloves back in the day and pretty cool looking.

A circa 1915 Reach ambidextrous glove sold for $6500 at REA plus about $1200 in buyers premium(ouch!). Shows insect damage but has otherwise seen little use. Listed as being the cheapest of the four Reach ambi's available for that time period.

A really beautiful Rawlings "Martin Marion" model MM glove sold for $202 on ebay. May be a 1940's wartime glove, stamped U.S. on the pinky and manufactured without the cloth patch and brass logo button.

A 1950's Rawlings "Harvey Haddix" model HH sold for a $65 BIN. There have been a few on ebay recently. Despite some wear this may be the nicest example and a bargain for the buyer. Only lasted for 5 min. on ebay. Pre-HOH and all original

A 1940's Rawlings rolled lace web model glove sold for $74. Seemed original despite being really played out and may be a model RR upon closer inspection by the winner. Very hard to tell from the photos but there looked like some faint markings along the pinky and at the heel. Glove was listed as having no cloth patch but it was all there, just completely black, Definitely a "dirt magnet". I don't know how cloth patches last a year of play let alone the life of a glove.

A circa 1920 Goldsmith "Pat Duncan" model sold for $255 on ebay. One of Goldsmith's better gloves, it has the sewn web and circular palm stitching on the lining. Good makings on the front and a nice logo button and cloth patch on the back

A white leather Spalding sewn web glove sold for $252 on ebay. A little more wear and tear than Mike's recent purchase, but still a pretty nice example. The factory markings somewhat obscured on the face but may be better with a cleaning. Some wear to the inner lining but the leather piping, patch and logo button are in good shape.

Dont know if anyone picked up on the style of this or not but the Goldsmith JD James Deshong model that sold for $99 appears to be a Special Pitchers Model that Goldsmith experimented with in the mid to late 30's. These were discussed at some length on here a while ago. I had never seen this one before and the index finger in noticably shorter like the other pitchers models that they produced.Image

I've seen the extended pocket versions like the Paul Derringer model but not one where the finger is actually shorter. It is pretty cool. I didn't notice that one at all when it was at auction. Here is a view of the back of the glove.

If there's such a thing as an "exciting" glove, that OK Joe Dimaggio Is certainly one of them. Fun to look at all week, too.
