A 1940's Wilson "Carl Hubbell" model 600 sold for $100. Glove is missing the 3 tunnel webs but is an easy fix. The winner may have gotten lucky as "Professional Pitchers Model" still seems intact in the pocket.

A Marathon "Carl Hubbell" also sold for $100. This one has the intersting "T" web and a strong endorsement.

A near mint MW brand "Duke Snider" glove sold for $86. Seems identical to the Rawlings model DS "Playmaker".

A circa 1930 Reach glove sold for $415 on ebay. No identifying model number or endorsement but similar to the Sam Hale, Roger Cramer models featuring the 1929 patented strap webbing. There was an unauthenticated "Babe Ruth" signature on the back of the pinky which may have lured some bidders.

A nice grommet web 1920's Stall & Dean "Grover Alexander" Speed model sold for $249. The stampings are pretty clear in the pocket and back of the thumb.

A great looking 1930-40's Denkert "Babe Dahlgren" model base mitt sold for $160. It is near mint and high quality. Features a pretty cool looking "shoehorn" web.

A pretty nice Spalding "Eric McNair" glove sold for $119 on ebay. Tied pinky model still doesn't hold a candle to the similarly styled Reach "Joe Cronin" model posted earlier in the month

Interesting to watch the auctions of hammersportsrelics on ebay. Their ebay picker is pretty skilled at spotting good finds. The Spalding glove below sold earlier in the month for $71 on ebay. To me, it looked like it had been spray painted white but it turned out to be a good find. It cleaned up very nicely and recently sold for $227.

A very nice "De Luxe Modelo" Martin Dihigo glove sold for $500. This is the third Dihigo glove surfacing in as many months and all three seem to be different models. This one is a really beefy triple tunnel beast from the 1940's. Looks like a Wilson or Spalding made glove. Seems to be in great shape.

I saw that Dihigo and it was gone within two minutes of listing. They're coming out of the woodwork recently, but this is the nicest example I remember ever seeing. Looks like it'll clean up wonderfully.

I'm thinking this might be a wartime or approx. glove. If I remember from the Doc Hughes book where he described about having gloves in Mexico during the war, he mentioned seeing the Wilson people there.
Could be that the Mexican glove makers might have also turned out the Dihego gloves from a Wilson pattern.

Interesting story on the Dihigo.

The seller posted on the eBay sports collectibles discussion board last week seeking information about this glove. He had no idea what he had other than "an old glove". I let him know that he had something special and also directed him to this site, in case he desired more information. I believe that he contacted a couple of different forum members and that gave them a heads up on the glove coming to auction.

The seller is a young college kid who found the glove in a thrift store for one dollar!

I am very pleased with the Dihigo glove, which really is a beast! I've always had a thing for fat 40s gloves and this one is as massive as they come, and I really like the deep brown. That Sisler import 1B is also a smooth monster, and the Alexander is top tier. Here are some pictures of the Dihigo and Alexander cleaned up. Rob
