Just after a Rare Rawlings "Ron Hunt" XPG10 Personal Model glove sold for over $400 on ebay last month, another one pops up and goes for a BIN of $76. Gotta love ebay

A 1930's Stall & Dean "Chas. Gehringer" model 8087 glove sold for $482 on ebay. Has all the whistles and bells a collector would want. great markings in the pocket. The glove was well taken care of and will be a stunner when cleaned up a little. The last S&D Gehringer sold for $352 and this one is in far better condition

from the abundance of gloves out there right now, I thought there would be quite a few great gloves that for whatever reasons just didn't get the bids. I also thought the Texas dealer would be represented but he didn't make my top three of great bargain gloves. These all are about $35 or under. They had to be quality models in good condition.

First is an OK Mfg. model LR "Hal Newhouser" with "ChromeMax" leather. Super markings and a nice looking glove

Second is a Dubow "Bill Nicholson" model 348 in Stellar condition

Third is a KenWel "Bill McGee" model 542. Triple tunnel web, nice logo, patch and button. This went for a little over twenty bucks.

This Rawlings "Stan Musial" model 60-4248 was made for Montgomery Wards in the 1960's. The Musial glove has all the features of an XPG or "Personal Model" with the V-anchoring and corporal stripes. The spiral top web is interesting with the "X" lacing at the bottom dubbed "Action Anchored" by Rawlings. I don't think this particular Musial glove was ever in a Rawlings catalog so it may be pretty rare. Amazing to me that it went for only $40 on ebay.

Another interesting 1960's glove failed to make its reserve of $149. This one is the MacGregor model 4 commemorating the MVP's and batting champions of 1965. Pretty cool glove design with the star web

Well. you can blame me for the price on this base mitt that ended two nights ago. I put a max bid of $250 on it thinking that just might get it done. The seller had nothing to say that I noticed about the condition of the inside of the glove. I admit, I just loved the photos. The glove looks very much like the one from the Hal Chase photos I posted a while back. I really do hope it pans out for the buyer.

I have a similar one about 8" height. My hand does fit in however.

I worked on that for John Graham a few years back. It's a small fielder's mitt. Not a kids model, I don't think.

That's from John's collection and not much detail, as usual, from the cookie cutter seller. I think there is a return policy though.

Fielder's Mitt makes sense to me. As a visual artist, I'm a sucker for those dark shadowbox photos. I think I would have been happy winning it.

I just got an meal from the guy who bought the nice Musial glove (above) and I like him, thought he got a very good deal and congratulated him. I think Rawlings put some nice Musial gloves
into the MW line from time to time. Wonder what it retailed for. Guess "Smitty" might know.

A circa 1920's Spalding sewn web glove sold for $218 on ebay. Glove is in really good condition with some logo markings still evident on the face and an interesting K-C patch in addition to a stellar Spalding patch.
