With little information and without a picture of the endorsement this Babe Ruth Spalding HR Special received 26 bids, selling for $860. From what I can tell the Ruth HR Special first appeared in 1927 (naturally). The line included fielder’s glove, catcher’s mitts and first baseman mitts. Ruth’s name remained on Spalding gloves until 1942, although without the “Home Run Specialâ€
