A "Burgess Whitehead" glove sold for $130 on ebay. Similar to some Goldsmith gloves of the 1940's. Have seen this style on some private label brands also. Interesting double laced fingers with lacing tie-offs down through the second and third finger stalls. Laced wrist strap.

A 1940's Gambles "Pete Reiser" glove sold for $100 on ebay. A similar model sold a couple of month ago. A well made and popular glove for collectors. A really large glove with a distinctive buckle back style. Seems close to near mint.

From the same seller as the Gambles glove above, a circa 1960 Wilson "Pro Model" with shooting star logo sold for $550 on ebay. Glove seems close to near mint.

A 1940's glove sold for $77 on ebay. The model number, back panel design and webbing suggest a Stall & Dean glove. I like the wrist snugger lacing above the wrist opening. if not that, I thought it may be a tie-off adjuster for the finger lacing. An interesting glove nonetheless.

A nice "Bob Doerr" glove sold for $67 on ebay. A military issue stamped from 1945. Most likely an OK brand with a no rip thumb pattern. High quality and in good shape with an interesting interlocking tunnel web design.

Another interesting glove to pop up as a BIN @ $175. Didn't stay listed long. Nice looking glove with an unusual separation on the wrist strap (but still pretty nice). Thos. Wilson Harry Heilmann. One of those gloves many of us spot, put on our watch lists and go on looking; while someone else says, "Too good to pass on." and it's gone.

That Heilmann had me up in arms. I was the bridesmaid on it when it was listed last month. The pictures or description were not any better and it sold for more. Not saying it was a bad deal, quite frankly it's a nice glove, I've owned one in better condition and love the model. I just thought that: having been passed around once, being the underbidder last time, it being sold on National week, the odds were in my favor to put in a decent offer (missing patch, lining issue, what looks like piping separation) and win it. I guess that wasn't the case and goes to show just how unpredictable auctions prices can go. Just like a fellow collector has said "Sometimes ya just want it!" Congrats to the winner, I have interest if you want to trade.

Also congrats to the Dazzy Vance winner! That looks like a great glove! $125 for a Vance! I'll take that any day!

I agree with Ricky about the Heilman glove. I scanned through the listing photos once and thought "forget it".
Instead here are three great gloves that sold for under $30:

First, a circa 1949 Nokona "Joff Cross" Professional Model for $15. This is a rare top of the line model with the thumb seam protector.

Second, a vintage 1920-30's Goldsmith catchers mitt for $25. the mitt is in good shape with an intact cloth patch. Seems like a bargain to me.

Third, A 1940's George Reach Co. "Sam Chapman" glove sold for $29. Glove looks to be complete and in super shape.

It's a World Champion Model, likely model 201 from 1939 since it differs very slightly from my 1938 222-01. This is only the third DiMaggio I've ever seen with a Spalding patch and they are all from the 30's. It was a steal.

A circa 1938 KenWel "Rip Collins" base mitt sold for $81 on ebay. Top of the line in its day, replaced the Lou Gehrig model. Features the "Neverip" seam protector at the thumb crotch. A lot of Rip Collins gloves out there but not too many KenWel models.
