Three gloves I bookmarked then regretfully forgot to review at ending time.

This 1920-30's Spalding glove actually had an intact cloth patch on the wrist strap mostly hidden by bad picture taking. The glove overall is pretty nice and could clean up. Sold for $52 on ebay

This 1930's Spalding sold for $42 on ebay. I knew it was similar to the "Babe Ruth" model but didn't see a hint of stamping in the palm so I let it go. maybe the new owner has more info.

This 1920-1930's marathon model 4220 sold for $96 on ebay. I like the stubby finger models such as this one. Marathon gloves in this time period had great leather. Robert, how did this one clean up?

This might prove to be a bargain. Ever since I found and worked on my first Goldsmith Ethan Allen, I've been hoping to find another one. Well, this one is clearly compromised by the patch, but looking at its lightness, my thought is that once I give it the Horseman's One-step treatment, the whole glove might come a lot closer to matching the color of the patch. I have to receive it first and see if that's going to work out. It's certainly worth the $13 and change I won it for to find out. They don't come up that often.

I bookmarked the Goldsmith also, but have had such bad luck on ebay over the last few months that I passed on it. I'm gun shy about a lot of listings these days. Can't beat $13 however. I liked the web reinforcing and the buckle back is always nice. I have never owned the "Ethan Allen" model but hope too one day. Goldsmith made a big ol' glove in that period.

Hi Mike, You might like to take a look at my other Ethan Allen glove on JD's site. There's something about this model. It's got a little "Ugly Duckling" thing about that I really like. Almost looks like a bundle of mushrooms! I'm hopeful that this one will also have that odd quality.

The first Spalding is most likely the Stanley Harris model - the stampings are too faint to see but everything else matches the catalog description to a tee. The other one is not a Ruth and has no markings - its huge and I'm thinking maybe it's the giant model.

Really nice looking (but cloth sadly labelless) Wilson Harry Heilman went for $124.50. Looks to be in great shape otherwise.

This high quality Rawlings 1B mitt sold at $130.

A !930's TruSport "Cy Young" model glove sold for $346 on ebay. This one is in very nice shape, has a great cloth patch and has the leather piping instead of the more common cloth piping. Signature endorsement looks pretty clear and the lining is good.

1940's Honus Wagner Co. glove sold for $275 on ebay. This was non-endorsed but stamped the "Junior Model"

A 1940's-50's Belknap "Lou Gehrig" basemitt sold for $225 on ebay

A really great looking and huge Gambles "Pete Reiser" model glove sold for $179 on ebay. I Really like the maroon leather. Probably Denkert made, the glove has nice markings in the pocket and was well built in its day.

A nice Olympic glove and box sold for $157 on ebay. Glove is pretty high quality and the box looks intact

An early 1950's Rawlings "Mort Cooper" model MC sold for $139 on ebay. Very light wear on this one. A real beauty!


A stylish 1930's KenWel "Jim Bottomley" model sold for $90 on ebay. A rare mitt and with great features. A worn lining kept the price down.
