Quackers, maybe there will be some decent stuff this month. These two ended yesterday - the Alex Taylor/Rawlings Bill Doak model H went for $62 and the crescent went for $660. I found the story of how the crescent was purchased at a flea market in Germany interesting.

I agree Brett on the crescent story, unless we are not on the same page. Of all places to find one, and going to flea markets in Germany, was the daughter on vacation? A quick search would reveal what kind of glove that is.
Perhaps i am wrong and the glove travelled overseas during WWI.
Just rambling here.

This unique Tru-Sport Bucky Waters made of a grey material sold for $79.99 as a Buy It Now. Also, a interesting web on this Stall & Dean Wally Berger that went to hammer at $38.

This Leacock full web only brought $123.50 - Rob looks like you got a really good deal - show us some pictures when it's spruced up.

I'm normally a lining snob but had to take a chance on this one because I've never owned a Leacock. My fingers are crossed that it has cleanup potential.

As for the crescent story, I found that interesting as well. My wife is from England and we head out there about once a year and then sometimes venture into other surrounding countries. I'll take a glove or two with me to trade for cricket bats or golf balls, but more along the lines of a trapper than a cresecent. It doesn't surprise me, though, that they are finding stuff out there because they really don't know an old glove from new glove, lemon peel , etc. Heck, we are still finding crescents in bargain bins in the US (at least you guys are). And yes, a WWI leave behind I think is a good guess on that crescent.

I didn't win it but thought that Alex Taylor double patch Doak was unique, too.

Will do, Brett. I'm excited about this one. Looks like a short-finger model. :D . It took me a while to locate the glove in the source book. Once I found it I knew I wanted to try to reel it in. (For the millionth time Joe, endless thanks for your wonderful guide.) -Mike

That catchers mitt like like a beauty, and the unique fingered was a steal. I ended up with the Everlast because it looks just like a Stall & Dean Speed, but with the cool Everlast label instead. I just hope that the owner not mentioning the missing lace at the bottom isn't an ominous sign of other issues. My fingers are crossed on that one.

Maybe I should have started this off with, "We interrupt this very special Duck Web Night with an aside about a couple of gloves; :D 36 minutes to go and the sky's the limit. :D

Here's a look at the two I received this week after cleaning and conditioning. I really like the oblong shape of the old Reach catcher's mitt. So far no readable stamping on it. The Rawlings is long and tall with a nice big wide heel. Both are very nice with complete linings and no rips or tears. My luck continues. :D

$1713.99 (best picture I could get of this duck web after the auction had ended).

Thanks for the picture upgrades. Anybody have any thoughts about this one? I've never managed to come up with a duck web glove. I have my doubts that I ever will. When were these most widely used? I wonder if there ever was a time when the whole team (excluding the catcher and 1st baseman) would take the field wearing duck webs. It's almost comical to imagine. Don't get me wrong; these are fascinating gloves.
